I bought this to run two monitors on an older Win 7 system because I have a couple of programs that will only run on Win 7, no upgrades available. Short version, there are two outputs, one DVI and one display adapter. To run two independent monitors (sometimes referred to as stretch) it takes separate cables to each output. If you use a DVI splitter, you get "mirroring monitors." 1680 X 1050 is max resolution on my system. Comes with both a full height and half height bracket. Installation was smooth thought the Win 7 driver took long enough to load that I was wondering if there was a problem. When I used a DVI splitter to mirror two monitors, the display randomly goes black for up to 10 seconds. I won't attempt to diagnose the problem, only did this until a second cable arrived so I could use the separate outputs. No problems with two monitors, one connected to each output. So again, to run two independent monitors you will need cables that match your monitor input on one end, and match DVI or Display Adapter on the other.
